shameless self-promotion
Just a reminder for those of you in DC that I'm on a Great Lakes Policy Forum/SAIS panel about the UN DRC human rights mapping report with lots of smart people this morning. I'm putting the odds at better than 50% that we'll get yelled at by Rwandan diplomats before it's over, but even if that doesn't happen, it should be interesting.
Also, the development experts/all around nice people at the Center for Global Development are hosting a tweetup this evening for all you development types. I'd love to meet any blog readers at these events - stop by and say hi! And don't forget to RSVP for the CGD event so they know how many to expect. :)

Great comments this morning, and you were spot on with your odds!

Agreed. Thanks for your thoughtful comments this AM. I'm hoping these discussions, along w/Monday's panel on SSR/Congo over @ CSIS, will draw those of us in the so-called advocacy community toward a more serious position/direction on some of the recs you've made on building and professionalizing essential security and justice institutions in DRC. With the one exception being your "start from scratch" rec on the FARDC. ;) Cheers.

Thanks for your shameless self-promotion. Some of us wouldn't hear about these things unless you tell us! Nothing like angry diplomats to get your day off to a good start.

Thanks for coming, everyone! And, Matt, I realize that idea won't happen. :)

I ‘m from Rwanda, and Very much liked your mastery of the Situation in Rwanda. I felt you were speaking on my behalf. From you, I truly heard my own Voice and those ones of my fellows who have been suffering in the Great Lakes of Africa!
