One irony is that Polanski would very likely have served his time by now and be out of prison. He would have to register as a sex offender the rest of his life, but now(maybe), if all goes as it should, he will spend the rest of his life incarcerated.
May he live to be a really old old man. OMG, what if a prison 'mate' were to 'use' him as he 'used' the 13 year old girl? May Justice indeed be blind!

You see about Gov. Goodhair's actions today? Replacing three members of a forensics board just before they were to review the facts in a potential execution of an innocent man - well, there terms were expiring, anyway, so might as well get rid of 'em.

I have been wondering why no one on the news, even NPR, was using the term 'rape' for what Polanski did to the girl. They all said "had sex with a 13 year old" instead of "raped a child." The commentator did a wonderful job of bringing the discussion back down to reality.

"Even NPR"? Naturally NPR would try to 'spin" the arrest and charge and conviction.
Polanski was convicted of rape in a court of law. He fled, not to avoid prosecution, but to avoid incarceration.
I can not fathom those who would excuse this man because of what he does for a living. How does one justify that?
