You laugh, but we have the same problem at FBC (but in reverse), right? I liked what Roger said in his sermon last week. Maybe we should change our name to "First baptist Church" to signify we are baptist with a little "b".

I don't think it's as much of a problem as others do. The issue isn't that we're Baptist, it's that our theology doesn't match the prevailing evangelical theology of this era in the southern United States. For the record, I'm opposed to name changes at FBC. :)

for the record I didn't suggest a name change.....you need to read or hear the sermon first...I suggested a different spelling based on the extraordinary work of baptist theologian James McClendon who spoke of a the "Catholic way", the "protestant way" and the third way, known as "the baptist way" which goes far, far beyond just those who identity themselves by the name of Baptist....
