"Africa is, indeed, coming into fashion." - Horace Walpole (1774)

this week in geeks

So someone figured out the decryption code for HD-DVD encrypton (the code that makes it impossible for the average user to pirate an HD-DVD. The code appeared on Digg.com yesterday, and was then taken down until they changed their minds last night following a nasty user revolt. You can read all about it here.

Of course, once this kind of thing is out, it doesn't matter how many cease-and-desist letters the lawyers send, the kids are going to have fun with it. And fun they are having. Here's a musical interpretation of the code, and, being as these are the tech geeks, here's the inevitable Star Wars remix, and an unbelievably obtuse video interpretation that ends with Digg.com's homepage dancing to "U Can't Touch This."
