A member from CBC (BU faculty). Heard it from several people. "Trial Sermon" on 17th. Begin on the 24th of June. Deacons/Church Council were told and apparently put the word out.

I'm on a family vacation this week at South Padre. Otherwise, I expect my dad would have heard at lunch yesterday.

Oh, boy. I called my sister and she refuses to believe it. Thanks for the details.

Yea, that church is built around her. I'm not too surprised, I guess, because I've heard there have been offers turned down in the past. Being chosen to speak next January at NBC shows that she's highly regarded at the national level.

You didn't tell me the provenance of the rumor, and don't blame me for not immediately believing every rumor that comes along without any access to facts or the people involved. Aaron's wrong, by the way. She is intentionally not the cornerstone of the church or the CEO. Of course there have been offers; that's ancient news. She's a preaching rockstar. Tom has a pastor-search-committee-deterrent system in place, for goodness sake!

JPR is no authoritarian and not a CEO, point taken. But as a "preaching rockstar," she's loved alot and by many at CBC. I've been to too many Baptist churches in my life. None valued their pastor as much as Calvary seems to value JPR.
