Well. Here at Texas in Africa, we are pretty sure that we don't like where this is going, but there's no stopping time. Today is my 29th birthday, and I'm pretty sure it's just the first of many 29th birthdays to come. Let's think of it as an annual tradition.
Today is also, of course, International Socialist Workers' Day, and while Fidel apparently didn't make it to the parade in Havana, D-line sends along this little token in case you're looking to make today a real (ahem) Communist party. (Please note that despite the Doctor's occasional joking accusations, we here at Texas in Africa endorse neither Socialism nor Communism, and that it is entirely coincidental that we share a birthday with Mother Jones.)
As for this birthday girl, I am taking the day off from the dissertation and instead spending it doing some of my favorite things. Tonight I'm going out with some good friends to celebrate another year gone by, to look forward to another year of adventures to come, and to be thankful for friends, family, and lots of love.
