"Africa is, indeed, coming into fashion." - Horace Walpole (1774)

this is awful

Ethics Daily reminds us of a problem that faces some of our world's most vulnerable people: children who have been displaced by war. Because of their circumstances, living in refugee or internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, many are subject to sexual abuse.

I heard stories about child abuse in Congo from an interview subject whose job it is to help with child protection there. The things children in war zones endure are unbelievably awful, beyond horrific. How anyone could abuse a child in the first place is beyond me. To take advantage of a child whose entire life has been uprooted by war is pure evil.

Baptists in Uganda are working to address this problem in their country, with support from other Baptists abroad. We should do all we can to protect these children.
